Four Outfits, One Suitcase...

This sounds reasonable doesn't it…I mean 4 outfits into one decent size case….?!

My thoughtful hubby had booked us a long weekend away to The Highlands for some 'time out'…

No phone signal, no schedule, no nothing apart from a lovely hotel, spa and two indulgent evenings in a fine dining restaurant…. This is all very wonderful until, ...until I hear the news that he decided we only needed ONE case, for the weekend, between BOTH of us!!

SAY WHHHHAAAAAT??!!

Clearly there were options..;

1. Force him to wear the same outfit all weekend due to his short-sightedness...
2. Wear all I could to travel in in a 'Cool Runnings' layering replay...
3. Have a meltdown and demand extra luggage…
4. Face the challenge!

After some clever packing, re-wears (and some 'additional' hand luggage support), I got it down to the four outfits!!

Day 1…The Airport Outfit

*Not the actual airport*

Coat - New purchase last week from River Island care of ASOS. I'd seen it in store and my size wasn't available so (with free next day delivery), ASOS stepped up!! Buy the coat here.
Jeans - Old (actually, still in store) faithful Primark petite skinnies.
Boots - Them Aldo ones I live in!
Shirt - New chambray shirt from Gap a couple of weeks ago - I've been after a one for ages, i love the fit of this one. Buy here.
Sunglasses - New Airport buy from Accessorise - buy here.
Bag - 'Celine' (Remember the one from Turkey?)
Scarf - Zara tartan scarf (rammed in hand luggage)

An early morning flight requires new Olivia sunnies from Accessorise, my go to breakfast - The peanut Bounce bar, M&S travel wallet and the latest Grazia - Do.Not.Disturb sign, out of shot!!

Dinner #1

The only photo I could salvage from a bunch of awful 'night shots' - This one is literally an outtake/blunder shot whilst looking for my lip balm.

Trousers - New last week - These ones are Warehouse and arrived in the ASOS delivery. They are a standard length trouser that doesn't agree with my not-so-standard leg length… a couple of rough turn ups and VOILA! Buy here.
Heels - Them Zara corset heels from last year! If you love these and you love leopard print you have to check these ones out here from Laundry Boutique!
Jumper - A fine knit grey jumper from Topshop before Christmas, no longer online I'm afraid.
Bag - The Stella & Dot Tia, as featured here.

Day 2…In The Wilderness

Breakfast, gym session and then a cross country run along the River Dee, we hired bikes and went on a 'ramble' (or whatever you call getting covered in mud, on a bike, for 20km, in The Highlands…)

The vehicles..
If you ever find yourself up in the Ballater area, you can hire bikes in the town and then you have to go out to Burn O'Vat - A stunning water gouged hole you can actually walk in to..More info on the history etc here.

In the bowl
Burn O,Vat

We were really lucky with the weather, it stayed dry albeit, a bit nippy! The scenery up there is literally breathtaking!!

Dinner #2

Guess which night I didn't pick the camera up…FAIL

See what I've done here… Lack of space = Doubling up on shoes and accessories for 2 nights on the bounce!

Skirt - Florence & Fred from last summer, featured here.
Heels - As before.
Clutch - As before.
Jumper - A chunky knit, wax effect jumper from H&M (It's so old, I don't think the internet was even invented, no link available).

Going Home

So sulky!
Coat - River Island from ASOS as featured above.
Jeans - Them old Zara ones!!
Top - Everyone should have at least ONE of these. This one was from H&M last year, I'm currently searching for a new one.

What do you think of the new additions to the Mission;Style wardrobe?

What option would you have taken in the ONE suitcase situ?

  5. Hello! I want to buy the same coat in ASOS but in pink, could you say me what size have you chosen please? I usually use a UK 10 size, sometimes a 8. As this coat is oversized I think a 8 size would fit me ok, what do you think? Can you help me please? Many thanks and best wishes from Spain! Love your style!! ;)
