If It's Good Enough For Beyoncé...

...then I'm sold!

A couple of weeks back, the team over at the Celtic Manor invited a group of lady bloggers over for a night at one of their Hunter Lodges...

Needless to say, the Celtic Manor gets me!

The resort is only half an hour from me, just over the bridge in Wales! It's perfectly secluded in the rolling Welsh hills. It boasts breath taking views, piercing silence and is worthy of every 5 star it has against its name!!!

We were lucky enough to be hosted a night of Christmassy cocktails and food in one of the 10 Hunter Lodges, which are truly spectacular!

There's so so much to tell you about this place that I'm gonna' fast fact it to make sure you know eveeeeerything there is you need to know;

  • There are 10 luxury self-catering lodges hidden away within the resort, all of which overlook the famous 2010 golf course.

  • The lodges make the perfect getaway for girlie breaks, family trips, celebrations and after seeing it all decked out, Christmas! You can hire a chef to cater for you.

  • The lodges sleep up to 10.

  • Each lodge has an outside decked area with HOT TUB!!

  • The design of each lodge varies - when we met with the Food & Beverage Director (who designed the lodges), he said that each lodge had to be ..."Classic...Contemporary and Cushy".

  • There are 3 hotels on the resort, one of which is a country inn that's a 20 minute drive from the main hotel and overlooks the River Usk!

  • There's 3 golf courses, one of which is the 2010 course. There's 2 fitness clubs, 2 spas, 2 swimming pools, 8 restaurants, Michelin star chefs and Rosette restaurants... What more could you need?

  • President Obama and his full entourage stayed in the lodges during his visit for the Nato Summit in 2014.

  • Queen Bey stays in the lodges when on tour! (This and the above practically makes me famous, right?)

  • The kitchen make 7,500 Christmas puddings each year (and the recipe is below!!!)

Here's a few snaps from the night...

The entrance to our lodge

A roaring fire and tree... leave me here until 2nd January!

One table and a tonne of festive cocktails!

The incredible mixologist.

Executive Head Chef - Mike Bates, cooking up a storm for us in the lodge kitchen.

From the bedroom mezzanine

I was holding the cocktail for someone...

Papped - I've always got my phone in my hand!

From the front door...

It's (probably) what Santa drinks.

The Tub!

The back of our lodge - Lodge 2.

Just your average view...

Orange in a chocolate fondue - it's THE FUTURE!

Last, but absolutely not least, here's two recipe cards that I had to share... 1) From the mixologist who left us with his fairly simple (but totally alcofrolic) menu and 2) From Mike Bates (the Exec Head Chef) shares his amazing Christmas Pud recipe!!

The last tip from the mixologist... For a homemade cocktails, slice oranges and sprinkle with cinnamon and then bake in the oven - perfect for topping winter cocktails and also make your house smell amazing too!

A massive thanks to Celtic Manor for a truly fabulous night!!

P.S. If you sign up to their newsletter then you'll get sent special offers too!

  1. I went to Celtic Manor a few times when my husband worked in the golf industry. The restaurant overlooking the 2010 Ryder Cup course was fabulous - we were staying in the main hotel so they taxi'ed us down from reception!
